Hello, HWS Community. Facepunch have released their update, and I'm ready with the servers as well, so they should already be up and running. As a reminder, this will be the last season of the HWS Horizon NA server for now, as the servers are being merged onto a new server with the full wipe. In preparation for this, the HWS Horizon NA server will be shutting down on September 30th, by the 09:00 restart. It's important that you remember to move your OCD contents from NA to EU using Cross Server Warp before then. As of this update today, I also increased the OCD slots on both servers by 50% for every level. So, for example, where OCD level 1 could store 4 items before, it can now store 6. That also means with OCD level 5, you can store up to 30 items. Technically this change applies to both servers, but for good reasons you should be careful if you continue using the OCD on NA (i.e., empty it before September 30th). But for now, have fun in the new season ^^ https://rust.facepunch.com/news/breach-and-clear

Merge of HWS Rust Horizon (NA) into HWS Rust Nexus (EU)

Hey, HWS Community. With the full wipe on October 1st, I've decided to make a change for the HWS Rust servers. One of the biggest problems for the Rust servers currently is the low player count, and with that in mind, it unfortunately doesn't make much sense to be running two separate servers. Both due to the financial aspects, but also because splitting up the players between two servers overall isn't that good when the player count isn't higher. Therefore, I have decided to do some restructuring of the servers' hardware, and I'll be combining the current three servers (incl. the web server) onto a single machine. With that said, the new machine will be stronger, and much more capable than the current servers. Unfortunately, the server will be based in the EU, which will of course be a little challenging for you in the NA. I am completely aware of this, and in the future if circumstances change, I will gladly set up a new NA-based server. My goal will be to make this merge as smooth as possible. Hopefully already during the beginning of next season (starting on September 3rd), I will merge your OCD and EB levels on both servers, so the highest one becomes the level on both servers. For example, if you have OCD level 2 on EU and level 3 on NA, your level would become 3 on both servers. As for the items inside your OCDs, you will have to move those by yourself using Cross Server Warp. You have until October 1st to do this. On the wipe on October 1st, I'll also transfer all of your HWS Chips from NA to EU, up to your wipe-safe limit on NA, but ignoring the one on EU. So with EB level 1 and both banks filled, you would get 500 from each server, to a total of 1000 on EU by the season start. This change will have both some good sides and some bad ones, and I apologize for the inconvenience it'll give to the NA players. If you have any questions, you're free to ask in #hws-rust-chat in Discord.

    Update on Performance Issues

Hello, HWS Community. As those who play have almost certainly noticed, there are currently some performance problems for the HWS Rust servers. Today I finally had the time to try and solve this problem. The new changes will be running as an experiment until the new season on September 3rd. If the performance is still not better, I will unfortunately have to make the map smaller next season, which should definitely help. I have made multiple changes, some of which are behind the scenes and probably not noticeable, and some which might affect you. The primary noticeable one is that I have lowered the raidable bases (NPC bases) by 50%, so there should now be 5 active ones at a time. Then I have also added an extra server restart by 21:00 server time, exactly 12 hours after the one that already is. With that said, the changes behind the scenes are the ones I'm counting most on to make a difference. If you still experience lag spikes for the rest of this season, I would greatly appreciate if you would let me know by sending me a DM here in Discord. This season, the only remaining weapons I really have against lag would be to disable Raidable Bases and/or zombies, as these two are the most expensive plugins on the server currently. But I would of course rather avoid doing that, since I know they matter for you as players. Hopefully, the current changes are enough that you will experience a difference! Otherwise, I will of course keep doing what I can to improve it.

    HWS Rust Season 4

Hello, HWS Community. The full wipe of the HWS Rust servers is complete and both servers are currently starting. Hopefully they should be up within 5-10 minutes. Facepunch also just released the monthly client update. With this wipe, I tried to make a few performance improvements, but I don't know if it'll be noticeable. We'll see. I've also worked on the zombies more, so their spawn frequencies should scale a little better with high wealth, which should hopefully add a little more challenge for the wealthier players. Beyond that, there's not much to say, except see you in-game and let me know if you run into any new problems ^^

    Server Update: Raidable Bases

Hello, HWS Community. I have just updated both the HWS Rust servers, so they now have the Raidable Bases plugin. This means that NPC-controlled bases can be found around the map, in varying difficulties, which you can freely raid to get some nice loot from. These bases clearly stand out, as they have large gray spheres around them, so be careful before approaching, as there are NPCs patrolling inside. Inside the raidable base spheres, it should be PvP, so players can kill each others inside. It's a relatively big change, so I may have to adjust it a bit on the run. Beyond that, this update also improves the PvE system, so things like your animals, vehicles, personal airdrops, and so on, are all protected during the PvE periods. So when you drop a supply signal, the airdrop will be reserved for you. Server-triggered airdrops are first-come-first-serve. Also, just as a heads-up. A few things will be removed from your OCD on the full wipe on August 6th, so I recommend taking them out and using the space for something else. These items are: Ballistic helmet, Chainsaws, and Jackhammers.

    HWS Rust Season 3

Hello, @everyone. In a few moments, I'll be starting both servers again. With this wipe, multiple bigger changes are coming, and as mentioned previously, the seasons will now last one month each. ## Full Rework of the Quests System This is probably the update with this wipe, in my opinion at least. There have been multiple minor problems with quests here and there, and some were too difficult, and so on. Now, the quests has been completely rebuilt from scratch. The quests (now "jobs" or "contracts") will be given to you by NPCs that can be found all over the map. With this, the experience should overall be better in all ways, although it may require a little more transportation from your side. I look forward to hearing your about this change. ## PvE Week (Mon-Thu) and PvP Weekends (Fri-Sun) Hopefully this change should improve the quality of the PvP combat. It'll give everyone the opportunity to prepare "safely" until the weekend, and get their defenses up and ready. It'll be very clear in-game when the PvE and PvP periods start, so it won't catch you by surprise. ## Night Zombies During the nights, there'll now spawn zombies near you. They are absolutely capable of fighting back, so you should prepare to defend yourself. I might have to balance this during the season, depending on how it goes. If I do, I'll of course mention it in the #hws-rust-changelog channel. The zombies will not attack sleeping players, and you should be safe inside safe-zones. Beyond all the above, I have also made various smaller changes. For the full changelog, please see #hws-rust-changelog.

    HWS Rust Season 2

Hello, HWS Community. First of all, thank you all for a great first season so far. Overall, the feedback I have received has been quite good, and with your help, a lot of minor issues here and there have been improved. Please, keep it all coming! I truly appreciate it. # Rust Specialist Competition Starting with the new season, a building competition will be running for a few days, until June 22, 2026, 19:00 GMT+2. The competition is quite simple, and I would encourage everyone to join. All you have to do is to build the most epic base on one of the HWS Rust servers as you possibly can. The competition will be taking place on the normal servers, where others can still raid you. Around the time where the event ends, the base will be judged as-is, so you have to make sure to defend your base. The judgement will be done by me, based on factors such as: - The overall appearance of the base (does it look cool?). - The practicality of the base (is it usable?). - How much effort has gone into the build. The rewards will be as follows: 1st place) 1 month of the Technician tier + 5000 HWS Chips. 2nd place) 1 month of the Colonist tier + 2500 HWS Chips. 3rd place) 1 month of the Scavenger tier + 1000 HWS Chips. You can participate in the event by creating a ticket in Discord, in the #rust-help-ticket channel with a screenshot of your base and a screenshot of the location in the 'G' map. If you request it, we can share some cool pictures of your base publicly in Discord, so others can see the cool base you built. It's not a requirement to have such pictures shared in order to participate in the event. If you'd like to build it together with your friends, that's also possible. Every person who actively participated in building the base (up to four people) will get the reward for the base. So if four people built the 1st place, they will each be given 1 month of the Technician tier and 5000 HWS Chips. Every player can only be part of the submission for 1 base, and they must belong to the same clan. # HWS Skills With the full wipe, I'll also be enabling a new feature. A new seasonal skill system will be added, meaning that as you mine, chop wood, or gather plants, you'll slowly level up and earn more resources with time. The progression is balanced around an entire season (14-21 days), and limited in how much of a global bonus it can give, to prevent creating too much inequality between players. The amount you can level up each skill is dependent on your HWS Level. So the higher HWS Level, the higher your skill levels can also become. With every full wipe, your skills will reset to keep the experience fair for everyone, but your HWS Level is permanent. Initially, the feature will have four skills: Chopping, Mining, Gathering, and Building.

Welcome to a new chapter of HWS in HWS Rust!

Hello, HWS Community @everyone. Facepunch have just released their update, which that I'll start the launch process for the HWS Rust servers momentarily. If everything goes smoothly, I expect both servers to be up within 5-10 minutes, as soon as the servers have updated and maps generated. You can connect by opening Rust and using these commands in your F1 console: HWS Nexus EU: client.connect nexus.rust-homeworld.net:28010 HWS Horizon NA: client.connect horizon.rust-homeworld.net:28010 Until June 11th, by 20:00 server time, a 25% starter discount for all subscription tiers has been enabled at https://rust-homeworld.net/support, which applies to the first month of your subscription. Supporting the servers is of course completely voluntary, but it is greatly appreciated from my side! Hopefully we can together create some awesome Rust servers that will be running for a long time. And remember to take advantage of the Cross Server Rewards! By having been in-game in HWS Empyrion within the last 14 days (and the opposite direction as well!), you will receive some cool rewards when you join the HWS Rust servers. To make things easy for you, I gathered the most important links here below. - HWS Frontier dashboard: https://rust-homeworld.net/dashboard - HWS Rust Wiki: https://rust-homeworld.net/wiki - Support Us: https://rust-homeworld.net/support If you want to receive notifications with future Rust updates, please add yourself to the "HWS Rust" role under #Channels-and-Roles in Discord. HWS Rust Announcement

Hello, HWS Community! @everyone. I've really been looking forward to making this announcement, and I really hope you'll share my excitement! ## On June 4th, HWS is expanding into Rust. We are launching two brand-new servers, built on the same principles that have made HWS Empyrion what it is today. A place where everyone can have fun, including both new players and veterans. I will personally be running and administrating these servers. You can check out the details and watch the launch countdown right now on our new website: https://rust-homeworld.net. The goal with these servers is to create a space that's actually playable. Active moderation, no cheaters, and no griefers, still while making plenty of room for high-stakes PvP. There will both be new custom-made features, as well as features that you already know, like: - Custom quests and daily events - The Orbital Cargo Drone - HWS Marketplace - A free veteran bonus for those who played on HWS in Empyrion (And the opposite as well) 😏 - And much more! I've been a part of HWS for around 9 years by now, starting out as a player in a small faction, and another 5-6 years as staff solving thousands of your tickets. Whenever Empyrion has been broken, or you made a mistake, I've been by your side. Now, I'm using everything I've learnt about what it means to play on HWS to recreate the experience in Rust, focusing on long-term progression and community. Now you may be thinking: what about Empyrion? Don't worry. @RexXxuS will continue working on the Empyrion servers. I will be running the Rust servers, while he continues working on the Empyrion servers as he has for the last 10+ years. We will be working together in order to grow HWS as a whole, ensuring that both games benefit from a larger, more active community. I hope to see as many of you as possible in-game for a legendary launch and a new chapter on HWS!
