Orbital Container Drone (OCD)

Your personal item vault - what fits, how much, and how to upgrade it.

Last updatedMay 20264 VIEWS

HWS servers wipe twice per month, which means you frequently lose in-game progression. To balance that, we added the Orbital Cargo Drone (OCD), which lets you store items safely across full wipes. There are still limits on what can be stored, so veterans cannot pull out heavy weapons on day one of a new season and immediately dominate everyone else.

How It Works#

Using the OCD is easy, but it's not entirely risk-free. To use the feature, you must be inside a safe-zone and out of combat for at least two minutes. Once you are in a safe-zone, you can manage your OCD with /ocd-get and /ocd-put, or by using the OCD web interface.

You should still be careful, as other players may try to intercept you while you travel to or from safe-zones and steal your supplies. That said, there are multiple safe-zones on the map, and because clan sizes are limited, a single group will usually struggle to watch all of them.

Upgrades#

You can upgrade your OCD to unlock more slots and increase per-slot capacity. Upgrading is meant to be a long-term goal, not something you are expected to finish in a single season.

Upgrade progression#

OCD level Slot count Upgrade cost
1 4 Free
2 8 1,500 HWS Chips
3 12 4,000 HWS Chips
4 16 8,500 HWS Chips
5 20 16,000 HWS Chips

Per-slot capacity by rarity#

Rarity Level 1 Level 2 Level 3 Level 4 Level 5
Very Rare 1 2 5 10 25
Rare 5 10 25 50 100
Uncommon 25 50 100 250 500
Common 50 100 250 500 1,000
None 100 250 500 1,000 5,000

Each level adds 4 OCD slots. Upgrades are paid from your Elemental Bank balance. Capacity values above are the maximum quantity per single OCD slot.

Limitations#

To keep HWS fair for everyone, there are limitations on which items can be stored in the OCD. These limits may be adjusted on the fly, but we announce changes in advance so you have time to adjust.

In simple terms, you can't store:

Weapons, Ammunition, Tools, and Armor.

There may be some exceptions within these categories, but the vast majority of items can be stored. Anything not allowed in your OCD is automatically rejected when you try to put it inside, so you usually do not have to worry about stored items being wiped. The easiest way to verify an item is simple: go to a safe-zone and test it with /ocd-put.

If your OCD feels small at first, don't worry. It becomes much more flexible as you upgrade it over time.
