Welcome to HWS Frontier, the Rust home of the HWS community. We are the same HWS you may know from HWS in Empyrion - Galactic Survival.
Many people know Rust for toxicity, admin abuse, and cheaters. It's difficult to find a server that properly balances the PvP side of the game with the fact that most people also have a life outside of it. Frustrating experiences like being offline-raided or steamrolled by a mega clan are common. At HWS Frontier, we try to balance the thrill of fighting, survival, and progression in a way that gives more people a chance to enjoy Rust and become part of a good community.
At the same time, we actively work to filter out the negative sides of Rust, like toxicity and cheating. To set clear expectations, we have written an Admin Conduct page that explains the baseline of how we run HWS Frontier and what you can expect from us.
If you're new to Rust, don't worry if everything feels overwhelming at first. That's normal, and you're not expected to learn everything on day one.

The Community#
Finding a good balance that gives everyone a chance to have fun is difficult. But after running HWS for more than 10 years, we're confident we can do it in cooperation with the community. Through feedback, constructive discussions, friendly banter, and teamwork, we believe we can make HWS Frontier a place for everyone.

Longevity is the Goal#
Rust needs frequent server wipes to stay engaging. That's just the way the game is built. While we cannot change that, we actively try to give long-term players a reason to continue.
Through our HWS Frontier website, we have features like the Elemental Bank, which lets you carry over some of your progression across full wipes and spend HWS Chips (our persistent currency) in the HWS Store. You can also store some of your items in the Orbital Cargo Drone, with clear limitations so no one starts a new season with weapons, ammunition, or armor.
